Last summer Aerosmith announced their "heartbreaking" decision to retire from touring after Steven Tyler sustained a vocal injury. Unfortunately, the injury occurred during their "Peace Out" farewell tour, which means they never really had a true "final show."
Tyler has performed since sustaining the injury; however, the whole band has yet to play together. In a new interview, guitarist Joe Perry gave his thoughts on getting the band together for one final show.
"We're talking about it. I mean, except for anything on the calendar, we're all alive and well, so we'll just have to see," he said. "I know there's gotta be at least another Aerosmith gig, and I'm not looking forward to putting the set list together for that one."
When asked if he thought Tyler would be up for performing a full-length concert, Perry sounded optimistic. "I think he would. I think it's just a matter of getting there, you know? I mean, we're up there, man. And it's a lot," he admitted. "I've always played like every show's the last one. I hate to sound like it's a downer, but I give it up every night, you know? The first gig we did for that [farewell] tour that got canceled, we certainly felt like it was gonna be another one, but, you know, s**t happens."
